I volunteered at a sort of daycare center for a few weeks during the break so here’s a list of the weirdest things that have happened there.
-little kid keeps dropping this small metal ball and it makes a loud noise. I take it away after a while but she manages to wrestle it back. Proceeds to put the metal ball under her crotch so I can’t reach it.
-was playing house with a kid. She was the mom and I was the son. I notice her making the mom abuse the son a lot so being a concerned person I asked her if her mom treated her like that.
“Yes but she’s my mom so I have to love her.”
“Would you hit your kids like that when you grow up?”
She looks me dead in the eyes, nods her head slowly, and says in a low voice, “Hard.”
-same girl also asked me if I had a girlfriend. Why did she look so disappointed when I said no? Also overheard the other teachers say she looked like an old lady.
-was sitting at a table with the kids and messing around with play doh. I was trying to sculpt a face and when it came time to clean up, this kid picks up the head and shoves a popsicle stick into the bottom so it looks like a severed head on a stake.
-“no no you have to shaaarre” *hogs all the toys to herself*
